COOKIES

Cookies are available every day, all day, in the community room.

On Saturday, Kairos participants learn about forgiving  themselves, asking for and accepting God’s forgiveness and forgiving others.

They each get a bag of cookies to give to another inmate against whom they bear a grudge or from whom they desire forgiveness for something.

On Saturday of the weekend all inmates not participating in the Kairos
weekend receive a bag of cookies.

By this time everyone in the institution
knows that something really special is happening inside the walls.

Lake Erie Correctional has graciously granted the ministry access and has allowed home-baked cookies to be brought in. This is a special type of love offered to the residents. We seek to tangibly share our Christian faith ways that will draw the residents to Christ.   There are 1,800 residents in the facility.

COOKIE REQUEST & GUIDELINES
KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY LAKE ERIE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION
CONNEAUT, OH

We have a need for 2,500 dozen cookies to be used on the Kairos retreat weekend

Criteria: Cookies must follow these guidelines:  No icing on cookies and no peanut butter cookies.

Cookies that are very popular are chocolate chip, no bakes, rice krispy squares, brownies, etc. Most kinds are well received as long as they follow the above criteria. Extra large cookies are difficult to pack and transport so please make them about 2 to 3 inches in diameter.  After your cookies have cooled, please pack the cookies in gallon zip lock bags (typically 2 dozen per bag) with the quantity labeled on the bag and place them  in a sturdy box.

No aluminum foil is allowed as the cookies must pass through an x-ray machine.

Your time and effort in supporting this ministry is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for baking the cookies and praying over them.

We appreciate your adherence to the prison's rules that allow us to bring your loving delicious treasures in.
